New Converse Chuck Taylors - No Lacing Required

Wednesday June 8, 2005
While I know it sounds incredibly lazy - I just don't like tying my shoes. Actually, it's not the tying that gets me as much as the untying and retying every time I want to put my shoes back on. - And I can't even begin to get inside the heads of those people who actually untie before taking off their sneakers.

My bad habits would be somewhat liveable if I wore only slip-on shoes, but having a love for classic sneakers, I usually just wear them down by cramming my feet into the shoes without undergoing the arduous task of untying, retying ... tying, tying, tying.

So, you can imagine my joy when I learned today of the new laceless Converse Chuck Taylor All Star "Slips."

By cleverly adding support under the tongue, Converse has kindly allowed those of us who are lace-challenged to slip into Chucks with ease. And, with cool "deconstructed" uppers, these sneakers look broken-in and cool right out of the box.

Priced at $45 (U.S.), the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Slip is available now, in red, navy, natural, apple green, chocolate or black.
