When Candie's stiletto sandals for the disco crowd first made waves in the 1970s, Hilary Duff was not even a twinkle in her mother's eye - yet the 17 year-old superstar (and confessed shoeaholic) is the new spokesperson for Candies, Inc.
Catapulted into fame for her Disney Channel TV show, "Lizzie McGuire," today Hilary Duff is one of Hollywood's most popular and busiest stars. Having recently been named one People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People," Duff-mania is likely to continue through yet another summer, thanks to her upcoming film "A Perfect Man," and a new album scheduled for release in August of 2005.
With print and television campaigns launching this fall, the Candie's Duff campaign will also help to promote the introduction of Candie's apparel for juniors and girls, which will be available exclusively through Kohl's department stores.

Hilary Duff has recently been performing at abusive rodeos and even has a concert planned at a bullring in May 2006. Candie’s should drop any spokesperson linked to such atrocities. Hilary’s celebrity attracts people to such events, putting money into the pockets of these animal abusers keeps them in business, abusing, injuring and killing more animals. hilary Duff performs at venues that glamorize and encourage extreme cruelty to animals. She apparently does not care that she really has become a spokesman for animal cruelty and abuse by performing at rodeos and will perform in a bullring on may 6, 2006. I will not contribute to anyone who care only about their career at the expense of pain to others. Ms. Duff is a bad choice as spokesman for Kohl;s, Candies, and rile model for young people. I am disappointed in her lack of empathy for others and greed for herself.
