Winter Boots

I adore winter footwear, so I can't really explain why I'm still wearing flip-flops, despite the fact that it's now cold enough to wear a jacket most nights when I go out. Nevertheless, as I stood shaking on my back porch the other night, I glanced at the thermometer to find that it was only 40 degrees. A mere 8 degree drop and it would have been cold enough to snow! But there I was standing in a pair of pink bowed flip-flops -- worse still, I had nary a new winter boot in my closet.

This is definitely a case of you wanting to do as your Shoes Guide says, and not as she does. A good pair of snow boots is something you'll want to have before you need them, since getting them on the day of a winter storm could prove to be difficult.
