Answer to a Common Question : Heels Slipping in Shoes?

By December 29, 2006

Follow me on:

Question: In certain high heels, my foot will slide forward or come out of the shoes, but if I try a smaller size, they don't fit properly. Is there anything I can do to keep my feet from moving in my shoes?

Answer: Heels slipping in shoes is very common, but there are a few products out there that might help.

A company called Foot Petals makes a couple of different inserts that help prevent blister-causing friction, and also help to keep your feet in place inside your shoes. Both of these products are listed below, and they also have several other items that are worth checking out.

I've also heard of people using double-sided tape. But if you go that route, be sure to use something that is safe for skin contact, like toupee tape.

Vapon makes tape strips call "Topstick" that might be ideal.

Those links no longer work. Any other solutions?
My heels keep slipping up in my new pair of shoes. I’ve yet to have worn them outside, so I’m debating on returning them.

Hi K Fox,

thanks for pointing out that the links had gone bad. Both sites had changed since this post was written, but fortunately, all the products I mentioned are still available (just on different pages than they used to be).

Best of luck,
Desiree
