Purple Shoes
Purple shoes are obviously one of the hottest trends of the season, but you may think your wardrobe can't support some of the brighter shades you've been seeing.
If that's the case, you'll be happy to know that, because it goes so well with black and gray, it's actually very easy to work purple into your Fall wardrobe.

Hi Desiree, Thank you for such a great blog, i have been keeping an eye on your blog since you wrote an article ralting to large size footwear.
I would like to let you know of our store in located within Melbourne, Australia. Rosenberg’s Of Windsor have specialised or catered to the large footwear clientele for over 100years and keep quite a large range in large footwear for both ladies and men. I was pleased to find your article that related to the larger sizes and agree that large size in the past has been a feat to find, however we have pushed for bigger sizes with leading fashions, and report gladly that progress has been made. The Australian market pales in comparison to that of the states in percentage of population, however we have overcome limited local manufacturing by sourcing a percentage of our styles from overseas from the USA, Italy, France, Germany and many other countries. We now find that we have a number of large footwear product ranges being offered from the US, where within the past to find styles past a size 10 had proven a formidable task. Likewise with our mens ranges, we still need to hunt high and low to find mens styles that will pass a size 16, more so in the dress and fashion areas as the large sporting footwear area is well covered. Please take the time to peruse our website and let me know of your thoughts.
Look forward to reading your reply

I love some of the purple shoes you picked, especially the Naughty Monkey and the Kate Spade. Just wondering why all your links are to Zappos or Piperlime though. There are tons of shoe stores out there that people don’t know about yet (I think everyone knows about those two already) and many have even better deals!
Hi Stuart,
thanks for letting me know about your site. I’m always on the lookout for new shopping resources — especially for hard to fit sizes. I’ll give it a look soon.
Hi NYShoeSpy,
thanks, I’m glad you like the purple shoes. It was one of my favorite lists to do — and what a great question.
I link to tons of shoe retailers throughout my site, including sites that most people probably haven’t heard of, but when I start to an article like a “Top Picks in …” I like to stick with the bigger sites, because they’re the ones I shop with the most, and because I can recommend them in without hesitation for shipping policies, customer service, etc.
They also usually have a better selection of sizes, and a larger inventory — which means I don’t have to edit hundreds of articles every day as the smaller sites sell out — but I also I have to disclaimer each paragraph by saying “they take two weeks to ship,” “I’ve never shopped with them personally,” etc.
But you’ll be happy to know that for each article like this that I write, I check five or six of my favorite retailers for styles, selection and pricing before narrowing the list down to what you see.
My list of ten purple shoes likely started as a list of more than 30 shoes from those five or six stores and was then narrowed down based on styles, size inventory and pricing — the final cut from that bigger list is entirely based on which styles I think readers will like the best.
It’s funny though, if you had asked me this question two years ago, the list of sites I was comfortable recommending often was definitely smaller — but new shoe stores are cropping up all the time, and I’m buying from them as often as I can. I evaluate my own shopping experience, and if all goes well, add them to my growing list of favorite retailers, and tell the world about this great new shoe store I found.
If you have a favorite store you’d like to recommend, feel free to drop me a line. I’d love to give them a look, and if they stack up, I’ll definitely spread the word.
Best to both of you,
Desiree
Those are GORGEOUS shoes
