Shoe Raffle to Benefit Breast Cancer Research

I love great shoe-related idea -- especially when it's for a good cause -- so, I was thrilled to hear that Tracey Asai's plan to raffle off 40 pairs of hand-painted silk shoes from Peter Fox.

Painted by Tracey herself, the shoes are ultra-cool, and sizes range from U.S. women's 5-11. Tickets are $10, and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Carol M. Baldwin Cancer Research Fund, Inc.

But even if you don't find yourself holding a winning ticket, you can still bring photos of some of the silk shoes home via a 2009 wall calendar that features a dozen pairs of the shoes being raffled -- and 50% of the calendar proceeds will be donated to the same charity.
