Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen Shoes

Monday October 6, 2008

olsen_shoes.jpgMary Kate and Ashley Olsen's Elizabeth and James line is soon going to include footwear.

The dynamic duo recently teamed up with the Steve Madden label to produce the shoe line, which should be hitting the stores in the Spring of 2009.

For me, there are a couple of weird components to this story. For one thing, due to the fact that everyone from Fergie to Paris and JLo to Jessica Simpson have all lent their names to footwear lines in the last several years, I've actually been working on an article about celebrities I believed should have their own shoe collections. The Olsen twins were already at the top of my list when I heard the news.

But then, it wasn't really a tough call. Pictures of the two clearly show they have a thing for shoes ... especially extreme heels. Which leads me to the other unusual aspect of this story: it's the first time I've actually been excited about the launch of a celebrity shoe line.

The rest of their empire has done well, so why not shoes. It will be interesting to see the what style the line takes.

I agree, and I’m really eager to see what kind of styles they approve.
