Heel Blisters?

Wednesday October 29, 2008

Heel blisters are most commonly caused by shoes that are too tight in the heel, in which case, the shoes probably should be modified or retired.

But bulky seams and uncovered components can also rub against the back of your heel causing blisters or irritation, even when you've found a perfect fit.

Of course, in a perfect world the insides of all of our shoes would be as smooth as silk, but if that ship has sailed, you can always try a heel pad or liner.

Here are a couple of products that might help, and even if you don't suffer from heel blisters, you may want to give them a look, since most of them will also help with stop your heels from slipping out of your shoes as well.

Foot Petals "Heavenly Heelz" -- Foot Petals offers an entire line of products designed to make women's shoes more comfortable. These thin foam pads are meant to help keep your heel in place and prevent blisters, but they can also be worn on the top inside of mules and sandals to prevent rubbing and irritiation. (Buy Direct)

FootSmart Gel Heel Protectors -- These basically serve the same purpose, but are made with soft gel instead of foam. (Buy Direct)
