Every so often, a pair of kids' shoes comes along that makes me wish I was a child again -- or, at least, that my feet were a lot smaller. Skechers' Bella Ballerina shoes definitely fall into that category, and not just because they're really cute, (which they are), but also because each shoe has a spinning disc built into its sole. That's right, you can twirl in them.
If you were anything like I was as a child, you did this in your regular sneakers anyway, but you had to look for a really slick surface to get a good pirhouette going, and even then, you didn't exactly feel like you were spinning, per se. Instead, it was usually more like you were kind of doing stop-start quarter turns. Challenging enough that you'd do it on a fairly regular basis, but not quite as much fun as I imagine real spinning would have been.
If you can fit into children's shoe sizes, then you now have an opportunity to improve upon the experiences of yesteryear. If not, then they'd make a great gift for one of the little girls in your life.
Tiny Hollywood princesses like Sadie Sandler (daughter of Adam Sandler), and Ava Jackman (daughter Hugh Jackman), have been seen sporting Bella Ballerina shoes, but at $50 per pair, you don't need a movie star's budget to afford them. (Buy Direct)
