Pink Ribbon UGGs and More

pink-ribbon-uggs-shoes-handbags.jpgIt seems like just about everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer, because, let's face it: even if it hasn't yet affected your life or touched the life of someone you love, it would be difficult to ignore a disease that was diagnosed in approximately 1.6 million people worldwide in 2010.1

As daunting as that statistic is, there is some good news, such as the fact that, in the United States, breast cancer mortality rates have decreased dramatically over the last three decades. Research suggests that these improved survival rates are likely due to early screenings and advanced treatment options. Unfortunately, the news is not as good in other parts of the world. That's what breast cancer awareness month is all about: raising awareness, while providing education and support.

There are loads of ways to contribute to the efforts, and one of them is by purchasing products that benefit charities focused on breast cancer.

You can start by checking out some of these pink ribbon shoes and handbags, or you can head over to About.com's Breast Cancer site for more information.
