Reminiscent of gladiator sandals, Crocs, UGGs, and open-toed booties, the wedge sneaker trend of 2013 is obviously one of those women's shoe styles that's going to be very divisive. I know that many of you already hate them, and that's fine. But, I also know that someone is buying them, and I also believe that one of the best things about fashion is that it doesn't always take itself too seriously.
Yeah, I know that we'll look back on these wedge-heeled sneakers, and wonder what we were thinking. But, when I think back on other footwear trends, like 60s go go boots; 70s disco platforms; 80s granny boots; and 90s creepers; I think how boring life would be without those dated -- and in some cases, even incomprehensible -- fashion decisions we make.
Granted, I'm not sure I can pull these wedge sneakers off -- and I'm not entirely sure I want to. But, I have been known to rock a pair or two of high heeled sneakers in my time, and I was having so much fun browsing this season's fashion sneakers that I actually threw in a bonus pair, turning this week's feature into a 6 for Friday. Besides, it's not every day you get to write about sneakers with wedge heels hidden inside. -- Enjoy!
