| Featuring woven webbed uppers, these silver high heels from Nina are a great example of shoes that are dressy and refreshingly different. But as unique as they are, these shoes also represent a growing trend of footwear that makes extensive use of that space on the top of the foot. In addition to gladiator and t-strap styles -- both of which also fall under this heading -- I've been seeing loads of shoes lately with multiple horizontal skinny straps, spider-web uppers, and even full uppers with open toes and backs. Personally, I'm down with it. While there will always be a place for skimpy sandals that expose most of the foot, it's nice to see designers being creative with more than just the heels of our shoes.
