Bettye Muller has described her shoes as being like Hitchcock Blondes, stating that "they have a distinct look that is mysterious and beautiful. Each one tells a story."
I don't have a my own catchy term to describe her shoes, but I can tell you that I love how she uses colors and prints, and how each shoe -- and each collection -- is so unique and varied. And while there's always a hint of retro inspiration, her designs still manage to seem very "now."
Here are a few of my favorite Bettye Muller shoes.
Versatile, classic and sophisticated with just the right amount of "pop," these patent sling-backs pack a lot of sex appeal onto their chunky 2.75" heels. The chic golden buckle looks great on all three colors (navy, white or purple), and any of them would be perfect for warm weather evenings.
One of my favorite sandals of the season, these patent leather toe ring flats feature a chic top buckle and come in loads of great colors including pink, pea green, orange and black. With slight .75" heels, these sandals are just what the doctor ordered for pairing with capris, shorts, pants or shorter skirts.
Sexy and fun, these summery sling-backs come in two great floral prints: white and blue, or brown, green and yellow. These striking sandals feature partially concealed platform soles and 3.75" heels -- both of which are covered with faux exotic print leather in complementary colors. Ideal for pairing with skirts or dresses, these shoes are extremely feminine and eye-catching.
Fans of flats will adore them, and even those who gravitate towards heels will double-take when they see these dynamic patent leather peep-toe flats. Featuring a mod, clear oval embellishment and .5" heels, these shiny wonders come in irresistible colors like fuchsia, white or black.
Combining a retro vibe with sex appeal, these ankle strap platform sandals feature wide strap leather uppers and chunky 3" heels. Great for adding a bit of attention-grabbing fun to warm weather skirts and dresses, the best thing about these shoes is the prints on the fabric-wrapped heels and soles. I adore the pink, green, brown and red version for it's "vintage wallpaper" appeal, but the brown and green floral version is dynamic as well.
