Sexiest Shoes of 2006

I've been looking at sexy footwear all year in anticipation of this end of the year wrap-up. But with so many sexy shoes to choose from, how on earth was I going to narrow down the list to only 12?

First, I had to think about all of the different elements that could make a shoe sexy, then look for excellent examples of those features.

I also wanted diversity. For example, I find few things on this earth that make me feel more sexy than a t-strap sandal, but what about ankle straps, platform soles, and slides? They're all sexy as well, so a list with a dozen t-straps simply wouldn't have been fair.

Making these decisions was fun, but it definitely wasn't easy. Since finalizing my list, I've seen at least a dozen more I would have liked to include, and I'm sure each of you will have your own favorites as well.

With shoes, as with anything else, sexy is subjective. While this gallery features my own personal picks, a truly sexy shoe is one that makes you feel great about yourself.
