If there is one major trend in men's shoes for fall 2010 it would be the rise of boots for men. You cannot go into a store, turn on a talk show or pick up a catalog without seeing boots taking over men's fashion. While some are more popular than others, there are still a lot of options in men's boot trends this fall.
1. Trends for Fall 2010 - Men's Suede Boots
As I talked about in my earlier piece, 2010 Fall Shoe Trends for Men, suede shoes are in. And as much as the shoes are in, suede boots are even a hotter property this fall.
It's tough to go into a shoe store or search online for men's shoes without seeing Clarks 'Desert Boots' or other suede boots out there. They are an insanely hot iteam right now - and for good reason. They're really cool.
The only downside to suede is that it can be tricky to clean and maintain, especially if you live in an area with tons of snow and rain. Cleaning suede isn't rocket science, but it will help those spiffy, new boots look great all year long.
2. Men's Work Boot Trends for Fall 2010
Work boots are another huge trend you will see a lot this year. Now, these aren't necessarily boots that you'll want to wear to chop down trees and work on phone lines -- with some costing upwards of $250-300. Although you're a step ahead of the rest of us if you do. Companies like Red Wing or Timberland have come out with some really cool boots that would last you years and add points to your "manly" status. They look great with a pair of jeans and a flannel shirt, and you will be the envy of every guy on the block.
3. Men's Boot Trends for Fall 2010: Chukka Boots
Chukka boots are another big trend for fall 2010 that a lot of shoe companies are targeting. They're great because they look cool, are durable and are really versatile. Timberland, Clarks and Frye all make really cool chukkas and John Varvatos even makes a more upscale boot if you have a little extra cash to spend and want to dress them up a bit.
4. Classic Black Boots
Few things are more classic and cool than classic black boots for men. They never go out of style, look great and can be worn in a variety of situations from jeans to chinos. Many companies have come out with black boots for fall including Steve Madden, Frye, Hush Puppies, and Timberland. Grab one that fits your need and you'll be adding a classic item to your wardrobe that will last you years.
