When it comes to men's casual shoes, too many people only think of sneakers, and assume all other shoes to be for dressy occasions. But there are several great shoe options for wearing with jeans, cords, khakis and chinos. Here are a few of my current favorites in men's casual shoes -- I've even included a stylish sneaker or two, for those of you who prefer to live your life in rubber soles.
These boots look great in brown or black leather, but they're especially gorgeous in brown suede. Though they're casual, they have a very elegant look. The pull tab and double side goring makes it easy to slip them on and off.
I promised sneakers, and here's one that's plenty casual and cool without looking too sloppy or "sneakerish." Available in black, tan or a super-cool green called "forest night," these sporty shoes have washed leather uppers and outsoles made from recycled car tires -- so they're eco-friendly as well.
The PreciseFit system provides footbed inserts of different thickness that allow for a truly custom fit. But mostly, I'm crazy about these shoes because they look totally masculine, but still have a great trendy look to them. A natural with jeans or cords, these shoes come in brown or light tan tumbled suede.
If the word "loafer" doesn't exactly excite you, than you've simply been looking at the wrong styles. These cool loafers from Donald J. Pliner bring new meaning to the word with their chic square bicycle toes and textured suede uppers. The black is a little fussy for me, but the espresso and tan versions are casual shoes at their finest -- a great look with jeans.
Here's a great example of shoes that can be worn casually or with dressier clothes. These square-toed slip-ons have a fabulous look, a great price tag, and come in two versatile colors: black or brown. Pair these with everything from jeans to khakis.
