I love art and of course, I love shoes. While those of us with a shoe addiction already know how gorgeous footwear can be on it's own; in the hands of talented photographer Tallulah, and lighting specialist Paul Wenger, even ordinary shoes become works of art.
The collaboration between the two results in works by "Paululah." Soles Exposed is their photographic exhibition which features stunning images of footwear arranged in provocative ways.
But there's more to the story in that each image has had a story written for it. A tale about a moment in the lives of each pair, as crafted by writer Meghan Stewart.
This stunning collection of photographs features shoes ranging from an elegant evening shoe that gives the illusion it's floating mid-air, to a Blahnik stiletto, artistically arranged for a still life named "Temptation."
Hand-signed and numbered prints are available, and choosing a favorite would be difficult. There's also the option of having your own favorite pair of shoes into a Paululah image, with or without an accompanying story.
The exhibition can be currently be seen at the West Vancouver Memorial Library (British Columbia, Canada), February 3 - February 28, 2006.
