Nike 'Cortez 06'

One of Nike's most recognizable styles, the 'Cortez' is probably the first Nike shoe I fell in love with. I was in Jr. High School when I first saw them, and I wanted a pair more than anything. Of course, I wanted white with a pink swoosh, or white with a gray swoosh, but had I seen these turquoise sneakers, I probably would have been just as happy to have a pair of them.
It's no coincidence that that same year my cheerleading squad decided to swap our outdated saddle shoes for Nike sneakers -- which naturally, I decided to wear every day, instead of just on game days like I was supposed to.
