Keen shoes are sort of difficult to summarize, but I'll start by saying that if you only like shiny fabrics, dainty styles or high heels, then these shoes are definitely not for you. However, if you want a kick-ass shoe that puts functionality first; offers loads of comfort features; and has a great and unique rugged, urban look, then you're going to love Keen - and these top picks, I know I do.
While these may not officially be sneakers, they are officially fabulous. The "Ventura II" has a "classic sneaker meets hiker" look with nubuck and canvas uppers. I featured the "Trooper" light blue version, but they are available in several other fun colors as well.
Throw on these sturdy casual Keen shoes with a hoodie and a pair of jeans, and you're ready for fall days at the park. Padded collars, leather linings and waterproof uppers are great, but the color options are out of this world: navy, barley, brown, plus the killer shades of garnet and paprika.
Style-wise, these Keen shoes land somewhere between a cross-trainer and a hiking boot. With lug outsoles, waterproof leather/mesh uppers and a secure-fit lacing system, these shoes are super-rugged, and seriously chunky. Offered in several great colors, my favorites are the lichen green and the grayed jade.
These outdoorsy mules feature micro-fleece linking, waterproof leather uppers, and traction-grip outsoles. With black soles and toe guards, these casual clogs are available in black, borgonia, garnet, paprika and teak.
Another great Mary Jane-styled pair of Keen shoes, the "Sienna" has a natural rubber and cork outsole, stretch mary jane strap and waterproof leather uppers. Great color choices (black, brown, mineral blue, rust or sweet pea) make these shoes irresistible for lovers of mary janes.
