I'm not a fan of all things retro, and I actually think there are some fashion trends that were DOA the first time around, and that we should now let rest in peace. But on the other hand, show me a shoe inspired by the 1970s, and I'm likely to lose my mind with desire.
These peep-toe sandals from Chinese Laundry have nearly all of the retro elements I adore: chunky heels, bold colors, micro platforms, and hardware detailing. I'm also so crazy about the color choices, it took me a full ten minutes (and some input from my shoe-loving husband) to decide which version to share with you. The black and silver is adorable; the brown and orange spells "comfort" with a capital "C"; the forest version (shown) is unusual and perky; the stone reminds me of something Rhoda would have worn; and the mustard version with red (ketchup?) trim nearly made me break down and cry. I adore these shoes.
Easily paired with jeans, the more fashion forward among us will work them 70s style with a skirt or dress. Previous Shoes of the Day | Buy Direct
