No matter how much we love the way high heels look, there are occasions when we need shoes with low heels.
Ironically, due to all the dancing, standing and strolling that we do when we socialize, it's often special occasions that have us longing for shoes with low heels -- yet, most evening shoes feature heels that are at least 3 inches.
It may be a bit more difficult, but it is possible to find elegant evening shoes with lower heels. In fact, I found several. Here are a few of my favorites.
With all the glam of a stiletto, this slide sandal features metallic accents and large rhinestone focal points. Available in lots of colors (some of which are dressier than others), these shoes sport a heel that is only .75 inches.
Available in five classic colors, these sandals have 2.25" heels, and skimpy ankle straps that add a jolt of sex appeal. A perfect match for skirts or dresses of nearly any shape, these shoes are sexy and wearable.
Leave it to Stuart Weitzman to make a pair of lower-heeled evening shoes that are every bit as elegant and desirable as their higher-heeled counterparts. Black fabric uppers and tiny Swarovski embellishments are featured on these elegant sling-backs, which are available in a wide range of sizes and widths.
With all the sex appeal of a sandal with higher heels, these Nina shoes feature satin uppers in red or black, rhinestone brooch embellishments and heels of only 2.5" inches. All great things, but it's the skinny ankle strap that really gives this sandal it's "wow" factor.
Too chic for words, thse unique sandals are the kind of shoes that demand attention. With one ultra-wide and one super-skinny strap, these slides have leather uppers and come in some of the season's hottest colors. The subtle metallic finish makes these shoes worthy of nearly any special occasion, but they could easily work for day events as well --- and your feet will thank you for choosing shoes with heels of only 2 inches.
