How do you organize your shoes? Are they arranged neatly in stylish shoe boxes, or are they in a heap under your bed?

We'd love to hear your methods for shoe organization and storage. Share Your Thoughts

Custom built Shoe Rack!

I had a custom shoe rack built to store all my 165 pairs for under $2000. It was done by Sketch N Build out of Jersey who did excellent job on a budget! Real wood too!

Clear Boxes

Ok I am a shoe addict. I have more than 300 pairs, and I live in a Studio in Manhattan. So the only place clear of my shoes is my pillow! I found these clear boxes called SHOEBBY, they are great. Go get them and then hiding or organizing your shoes will no longer be a problem and for those of you who don't cook, try to use the space for pans and pots in your kitchen to store some of your shoes.

Storage Boxes to Organize Shoes

I have over 300 pair and my closet shelves are full, as well as the area under the hanging clothing. Sorry, none under the beds. We bought the large size storage boxes with the dual hinged lids. I have heels sorted by color and by summer/winter styles. A lady cannot have too many shoes and if it fits buy it in every color.

Shoe storage, an ongoing problem!

Great topic this week! I bet I have over 200 pairs of shoes - everything from heels to sneakers, stored in every nook and cranny of our home. My closet shelves are packed, as is the space under my bed. My husband rented an off-site storage facility a few years ago for some extra furniture we acquired. I manage to sneak a few boxes of my little lovelies in there a few months ago! I can't imagine parting with any of them ... it's a real problem. One quick tip: I will often snap a picture of each pair to the outside of the shoe box. This allows quick scanning of my collection and speeds up matching my shoes with what I'm wearing that day.

How I Organize my 65 Pairs of Shoes

I have 65 pair of shoes. I keep them in a wall wadrobe on long shelves. Every pair stay in shop box, wrapped by thin paper with small silica gel pack in every shoe. I write on every box by water pan: name, color, heel, place for wearing (beach, office, sport, shop, etc.) I Plan to make photo of every pair and glue on the side for easy finding.

How Do You Organize Your Shoes?

I brought stackable shelving units from Target to organize my shoes. This way I can control the amount of space used and I can see all of my shoes.

I Hide My Shoes!

Just prior to moving, I counted almost 200 pairs of shoes! That does include flip flops and "thin" shoes. If my husband had any idea, he would commit me, so I hide them in the kids' closet and store off-season ones (like the 9 pairs of knee high boots), so he doesn't have a coronary.

Colour co-ordinated shoes

My shoes have their own cupboard :-) I bought hanging shoe organisers that can keep 10 pairs of shoes each. My shoes are colour co-ordinated and it makes selecting a pair of shoes a breeze. It is because I can see all my shoes that I wear all my shoes.

I organize my shoes by color ...

I just moved to a home with about 100 sq. ft. from a 2800 with three walk-in closets. I have a very large garage and have a double door wardrobe that I put most of my shoes in. I file them on shelves by color. This works very well for me. My wardrobe fits against any wall and hold about 60-70 pr. You can always add two wardrobes.

Shoe Organization

I'm retired and don't have hundreds of shoes (or closet space for them), but they are arranged on a shelf, separated by casual sandals, casual flats, casual heels, dress heels. Works for me!

Shoes on a Bookcase

I rescued a 5 shelf bookcase from the trash. It now houses about 50 pair of my shoes - organized by work/color, then casual/color and play/color. I can find any of my 79 pairs of shoes in a second.

Revolving Shoe Racks

I was severely dreading organizing my shoes, but we were moving so I had to do something! I found a revolving tall rack that holds 30 pairs of shoes at Bed Bath and Beyond for $25.00 each. So, I bought the appropriate number of racks, assembled them and now my shoes are nicely organized. The only problem is that the racks are pretty tall, so you will have to deal with that in in your closet. So, it is a choice. I chose to have the tall racks in my closet and hang my shorter things on that side. I probably do not have as many shoes as many of you do. I only needed 4 racks. Now my boots are in another closet. That is another story!

Creative Option for Storing Shoes

Unloved knit fabric + clear plastic window from tanktop packaging and a tie holds each pair neatly!

Um ... Organize Them?

Mine are in a big pile next to the front door. But then, I only have about 7 pairs of shoes, so I can get away with that.

Long Shelves for Shoes

I had my boyfriend put three really long shelves from Ikea on the wall in my bedroom, and all my shoes are in a line on them. It looks great but I'm almost out of room. Need more shelves!
